Soul Bay Night @ The Cockpit
The Cockpit Theatre
We are celebrating our latest 3 publications with a special party in London at The Cockpit Theatre, Gateforth Street, Marylebone, London NW8 on Tuesday 29th October (7:30-11:00) and we’d love you to join us for an evening of poetry, prose, music & film with more than a generous chance of a drink thrown in too!
In addition to readings by Soul Bay authors Matthew Loukes (from his latest Slim Gunter novel) & Martin Jenkins (author of A New Science of Navigation), there will also be readings from ‘Ladders to the Sun’ the critically acclaimed collection of poems by the notorious American lost generation poet Harry Crosby by Andrew Franks.
There will also be readings by Stuart Snelson and Samantha Herron who are just two of the Soul Bay short story writers that have contributed to ‘Thirteen’, SBP’s compilation of the best of new writing from England, USA & Australia.
We will also have music from Pocketsize who achieved many plaudits for their debut album 100% Human. A combination of beautiful vocals, autoharp, guitar and tea-chest bass bring their melodic self-penned and Appalachian songs wholly to life.
The evening’s film content will be provided Alan Stepney. His previous work includes ‘Dardasha (chi’t-chat)’, a documentary about Moroccan women migrants who have settled in London, which was showcased at this year’s Nour Festival. He is currently working on a documentary about Argentine Tango in London.
It promises to be a great evening, we’d love to see you there!
